Art Attack - Day 1

Room 12 was straight into canvas paintings today! After we got into pairs, we decided on a Jungle animal that we wanted to create using some inspiration from animal pictures Miss Davey shared with us. Then we got stuck in! We had so much fun working together, mixing colours and creating bright pieces of art to hang and share in our learning space.
Matthew and Ryan worked together to paint a tall Giraffe while Ethan and Finn painted a beautiful parrot. Isabel painted a big scary Gorilla.
Yousef and Jacob painting a bright green snake
Joseph and Ben paint a Lion
Claudia and Hayley paint a big Elephant
Ilea and Zoe paint a tall Giraffe
Kayla and McKenzie paint a sleeping Tiger
Noel and Seth paint a bright Tiger
Isabella and Leah paint a giant Panda Bear
Reuben and Jonte create a Panda Bear, too,
Brody and Alex both paint amazing Gorillas
Dylan and Max create a curly Snake

I think your jungle paintings are very cool, and colorful. It reminds me of when we did abstract art in school and we used lots of different colours and media to create our art.
Have you thought about using different media, not just paint? Are you going to paint anymore pictures? If you do I would love to see them! Did you think you could put this in a slideshow so you have more room to write about your work? Your art looks amazing. if you want to see my learning blogi is at http://wpsisabeller.blogspot.co.nz/

  4. Talofa Lava Kereru kids,
Hi there I am Caroline from Waikowhai Primary School. I really like the way that you have been so creative in your artwork. By the looks of your artwork I constantly know that you are all great artists. Who brought the idea up? Did you guys get the inspiration from a famous artist? What I really liked was how you added pictures of yourselves and your animals. Maybe you could have added some background scenery of a jungle or even a waterfall that would look really cool! This is a link to my blog http://wpscaroliner.blogspot.co.nz/ -Please feel free to comment and hope you enjoy my blog:)

  10. Hi my name is Yussra i am a student in room 19 at owairaka primary school.

I really like how you reused the egg containers so you can put your paint in. I like painting and i like Art Attack too . It looks like everyone is having fun painting . What was your favourite part of Art Attack? My one is when the made the tissue box into an elephant and with tissue poking out. I think next time you could have a competition and get everyone to paint their favourite animal and see who can make it look like the picture the most. Here is a link to my blog so you can check my blog out and comment too.http://odsyussraa.blogspot.co.nz/

  11. Hi my name is Jack from Owairaka School. Cool looking art, I love the giraffe and the tigers.
They all look amazing. Maybe if you do it next time you could dye the background a colour you like. Also did you sketch out the drawing before you painted the picture? It helps to sketch it first because you can rub it out if you make a mistake. Are there any pictures of finished art because it would be nice to see some finished art?

  15. Hi it's Emily from Room 7

Your jungle paintings are very unique and reminds me of when I was at home painting animals myself! Have you considered using some volume or different textures. Try using cotton buds, or sponges and make dots on the page. Come to my class and I could show you some that we did. My personal favourite was the curly snake by Max and Dylan. I would love to see any future artworks that your class may do. See you later!

  16. I love the snake painting it's very well done It reminds me of when I was painting an Olympic tiger a couple of years ago. And do you think that you could do more awesome paintings in the future? Great job.

  17. They look Excellent! I look forward to seeing your finished Art Attack! I like them all, but my favourites are the tiger and the Elephant. Maybe use shades of the colour in different places to make it more effective. For Example, parts of the animal might be in the sun, so you should add a bit of white to make it lighter. Keep up the great work!

  20. I like how you all buddy up and worked together to make some interesting art attack about jungle animals. I also liked how you guys were inspired by Miss Davey to do these artworks. These artworks made me think of when my mum and dad went to Australia and held most of these animals that you painted. Next time you could all do different animals because a few of them were the same. How long did it take to paint these artworks?
